Who is lip augmentation suitable for

Lip augmentation is suitable for patients who are unhappy with the volume, shape, or symmetry of their lips. It is chosen by women who naturally have thin lips and desire a more defined look, as well as by those experiencing age-related volume loss and loss of lip definition. The procedure can correct asymmetry, accentuate the Cupid's bow, add volume to the upper or lower lip, or gently lift the corners of the mouth. Suitability for the procedure is assessed by MUDr. Kamila Šormová during a personal consultation, taking into account your overall facial proportions and aesthetic goals.

Lip augmentation method

We perform lip augmentation using hyaluronic acid injections — a naturally occurring substance found in the human body. Hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary (results typically last 6–12 months depending on the product used and individual metabolism) and can be dissolved enzymatically if needed. During the consultation, we will discuss the most suitable product and recommended dose for your case.

The procedure and recovery

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and takes approximately 30 minutes. Hyaluronic acid is applied using a fine needle or cannula. After treatment, mild swelling, redness, and occasional small bruises can be expected, which typically resolve within 3–7 days. Immediately after the procedure, it is advisable to avoid intense physical exercise, saunas, and direct sun exposure for at least 24–48 hours. The final result is visible once the swelling has subsided, usually within one week.

Results, longevity and safety

Modern hyaluronic acid fillers deliver natural-looking results without an exaggerated appearance. The duration of effect depends on the product used, the area of application, and individual metabolism — usually between 6 and 12 months, after which the procedure can be repeated. Hyaluronic acid is fully biocompatible and can be quickly and safely dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the result. Is lip augmentation painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so discomfort is minimal. The lips are naturally more sensitive than other facial areas, but most patients describe the procedure as well tolerated. After the anesthesia wears off, mild tenderness and tension in the lip area may be felt, which quickly subsides.
How long do hyaluronic acid lip filler results last?
The effect of hyaluronic acid in the lip area typically lasts 6–12 months. The rate of absorption varies depending on individual metabolism, the product used, and the area of application. Once the effect has worn off, the procedure can be repeated. Many patients notice that with repeated treatments, results tend to last longer.
Can I have natural-looking lips, not overly large?
Natural-looking results are our priority. During the consultation, we carefully assess your facial proportions and your wishes. The goal is not maximum volume at any cost, but harmonious lips that complement your overall appearance. We always work in line with each patient's individual preferences and recommend a conservative approach.
What happens if I am not satisfied with the result?
One of the main advantages of hyaluronic acid is the possibility of correction: if you are not satisfied, the filler can be quickly and safely dissolved at any time using the enzyme hyaluronidase. The result disappears almost immediately after the enzyme is applied.
How does the first consultation work?
Consultations take place every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. During the first consultation, Dr. Šormová will thoroughly examine you, listen to your wishes and ideas. What is the recovery time?
Recovery time varies depending on the type of procedure. For minor procedures, return to normal life is possible within a few days, for larger operations it can take 2–4 weeks. See details for each procedure in our Procedures section.
Are the procedures painful?
Most procedures are performed under local or general anesthesia, so you do not feel pain during the procedure itself. After the procedure, mild pain is normal and can be managed with common painkillers. View our before & after results.
