Men

Gynekomastie

Surgical reduction of an enlarged mammary gland in men.

Performed under general anaesthesia.

It is performed by a periareolar incision when first the fatty part is reduced by a tumescent liposuction and then subcutaneous mastectomy is performed which is the actual removal of the gland. Finally the wounds are stitched up and an elastic compression bandage applied which is necessary to be worn for 4 weeks to prevent postoperative bleeding and later unevenness.

Surgery with a 1 day stay at the clinic under the attendance of professional nursing staff.

Convalescence ca 1-2 weeks.
